A New Future Awaits DeafNation
By Marvin T. Miller, Editor-in-Chief
Hi readers,
What an exciting time it has been for us all at DeafNation, Inc. and Barish Communications Int’l, Inc. The past few months has moved very quickly for myself and my family, and I’m writing to you from my new office in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Naturally, by now, you have read the story on the merger, and I don’t need to repeat myself in here.
I just wanted to grab this time to share with you, our readers, what this merger means for all of us in the community.
1. Most importantly, DeafNation newspaper will continue as normal with a slight modification in the name – DeafNationNewspaper to clearly emphasize what kind of product we’re talking about here. In my travels, I have noticed invariably that people do approach DeafNation booth asking, “What’s DeafNation for? What does it do?”
I realized that the brand name, DeafNation, does not do the job of telling people what it is, so we have come up with a better solution – the one you see on our front page: DeafNationNewspaper, DeafNationNet is for internet service, DeafNationWeb is our web hosting service, and DeafNationStore is our online & offline catalog of high-technology solutions that improve quality of a deaf and hard of hearing person’s life plus some merchandises such as t-shirts.
2. WebbyNation, Inc. is our parent company that has several products under its’ wings: DeafNation (Newspaper, Net, Store, and Web), WebbyNet and future products may be added.
3. The toll free number remains the same:888-332-3628 or 888-DEAFNATION.
4. My e-mail address remains the same at: marvmiller@deafnation.com
5. Base of newspaper operations has moved to Las Vegas, Nevada which means my family and myself has relocated here in the August to be part of a bigger and better corporation.
6. Yep, I’m still the Editor-in-Chief of DeafNationNewspaper after the merger, and I also will assume a new title of Chief Operations Officer (COO) of WebbyNation, Inc. which oversees all production and operating aspects of the new company.
Joel Barish is my new Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer, and Jed Barish is our Chief Marketing Officer. Yup, in case you’re asking, they’re brothers.
What does this mean for you, our readers?
Better quality products with better customer service support, and we will be working on many aspects of this newspaper and web site to ensure we are giving you the best information you can ask for from us.
I can still be reached at the same e-mail address, and you can check our web site: www.deafnation.com for further information on all of our products which includes this newspaper and our internet service.
This merger really combines the best of both worlds (traditional newspaper and internet media) so you can expect big things from us in the next few months!
Note: This issue is a combination of two issues – September and October issues – due to circumstances beyond our control (in other words, a shipping company lost our package on way to printing company.) We apologize for inconvenience this may have caused you.
